Prebiehala od 2. do 13. decembra 1993. Cie\u013eom misie bolo opravi\u0165 Hubblov vesm\u00edrny \u010falekoh\u013ead a to najm\u00e4 nasadi\u0165 na\u0148 korektor, ktor\u00fd naprav\u00ed chybu jeho nepresne vybr\u00fasen\u00e9ho zrkadla. I\u0161lo dovtedy o najzlo\u017eitej\u0161iu opravu vo vesm\u00edre, na ktor\u00fa \u010dakali astron\u00f3movia z cel\u00e9ho sveta.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pos\u00e1dka<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Richard O. Harbaugh \u2013 letov\u00fd \u0161pecialista 1\/3\/4\/5<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Chyba \u010falekoh\u013eadu<\/h2>\n<h3>Prv\u00e9 pozorovanie<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hubblov vesm\u00edrny \u010falekoh\u013ead je kozmick\u00fd \u010falekoh\u013ead vynesen\u00fd na obe\u017en\u00fa dr\u00e1hu pri misii STS-31. 51 dn\u00ed po jeho vynesen\u00ed, 20. m\u00e1ja 1990, sa za\u010dalo prv\u00e9 sk\u00fa\u0161obn\u00e9 pozorovanie. Tento de\u0148 mal vst\u00fapi\u0165 do dej\u00edn ako za\u010diatok \u00e9ry kozmickej astron\u00f3mie. Cie\u013eom prv\u00e9ho pozorovania sa stala <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adhara.sk\/?page_id=183\">otvoren\u00e1 hviezdokopa<\/a> NGC 3532. Ke\u010f sa v\u0161ak na monitoroch vykreslil prv\u00fd obraz objektu, bol pomerne neostr\u00fd. Oper\u00e1tori sa sna\u017eili obraz zaostri\u0165 pos\u00favan\u00edm sekund\u00e1rneho zrkadla pozd\u013a\u017e optickej osi. Ost\u00e1val v\u0161ak na\u010falej neostr\u00fd. Napriek tomu, \u017ee i\u0161lo st\u00e1le o lep\u0161iu sn\u00edmku, ne\u017e ak\u00fa by vtedy dok\u00e1zali urobi\u0165 pozemsk\u00e9 \u010falekoh\u013eady, prv\u00e9 pozorovanie prinieslo ve\u013ek\u00e9 sklamanie.<\/p>\n<h3>Pr\u00ed\u010dina neostrosti<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Na pr\u00ed\u010dinu neostrosti obrazu sa pri\u0161lo pri sk\u00fa\u0161kach optickej s\u00fastavy. \u010ealekoh\u013ead trpel gu\u013eovou chybou, be\u017enou vadou gu\u013eov\u00fdch zrkadiel reflektorov. Hlavn\u00e9 zrkadlo malo odch\u00fdlku od pl\u00e1novan\u00e9ho tvaru 2 mikrometre. Chybu sp\u00f4sobila firma Perkin-Elmer, ktor\u00e1 testovala prim\u00e1rne a sekund\u00e1rne zrkadlo iba oddelene a ka\u017ed\u00e9 s trochu in\u00fdmi parametrami.<\/p>\n<h3>Mo\u017en\u00e9 rie\u0161enia<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Vedeck\u00e1 komisia \u010falekoh\u013eadu dala nieko\u013eko n\u00e1vrhov, ako postupova\u0165 \u010falej. Jedn\u00fdm z rie\u0161en\u00ed by bolo s \u010falekoh\u013eadom ni\u010d nerobi\u0165, lebo \u010das\u0165 jeho pozorovacieho programu sa dala realizova\u0165 aj s chybou. \u010eal\u0161ia mo\u017enos\u0165 bola zachytenie \u010falekoh\u013eadu raketopl\u00e1nom a jeho doprava na Zem, kde by sa dobr\u00fasila optick\u00e1 plocha. N\u00e1klady na tak\u00e9to rie\u0161enie by v\u0161ak boli pr\u00edli\u0161 vysok\u00e9. Nakoniec vyhral variant opravy \u010falekoh\u013eadu priamo na obe\u017enej dr\u00e1he, a to umiestnen\u00edm korektora COSTAR (<strong>C<\/strong>orrective <strong>O<\/strong>ptics <strong>S<\/strong>pace <strong>T<\/strong>elescope <strong>A<\/strong>xial <strong>R<\/strong>eplacement), ktor\u00fd sa na \u010falekoh\u013ead zalo\u017e\u00ed. I\u0161lo o s\u00fabor mal\u00fdch, presne vybr\u00fasen\u00fdch zrkadiel, ktor\u00fd fungoval na princ\u00edpe okuliarov a pom\u00e1hal \u010falekoh\u013eadu zaostrova\u0165. Na rozdiel od okuliarov pre \u010dloveka v\u0161ak pre tento \u00fa\u010del nemohli by\u0165 pou\u017eit\u00e9 sklenen\u00e9 \u0161o\u0161ovky, lebo pohlcuj\u00fa ultrafialov\u00e9 \u017eiarenie, v ktorom \u010falekoh\u013ead tie\u017e pozoruje. Modul COSTAR mal rozmery telef\u00f3nnej b\u00fadky a v\u00e1\u017eil 290 kg.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u010eal\u0161\u00edmi cie\u013emi misie bolo in\u0161talovanie novej kamery WFPC2 a v\u00fdmena panelov slne\u010dn\u00fdch bat\u00e9ri\u00ed, preto\u017ee tie p\u00f4vodn\u00e9 kmitali pri ka\u017edom vstupe teleskopu do zemsk\u00e9ho tie\u0148a a v\u00fdstupe z neho.<\/p>\n<h2>Pr\u00edpravy na \u0161tart<\/h2>\n<div id=\"attachment_4931\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\" style=\"width: 300px\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.adhara.sk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/640px-STS-61_Roll-Around_-_GPN-2000-000757.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4931\" src=\"http:\/\/www.adhara.sk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/640px-STS-61_Roll-Around_-_GPN-2000-000757-300x198.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"198\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.adhara.sk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/640px-STS-61_Roll-Around_-_GPN-2000-000757-300x198.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.adhara.sk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/640px-STS-61_Roll-Around_-_GPN-2000-000757.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Raketopl\u00e1n Endeavour za\u010d\u00edna rolova\u0165 z rampy 39-A na 39-B, 15. november 1993<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Misia STS-61 niesla tie\u017e ozna\u010denie HST SM-01 (Hubble Space Telescope Servicing Mission One), preto\u017ee i\u0161lo o prv\u00fa servisn\u00fa misiu k Hubblovmu vesm\u00edrnemu \u010falekoh\u013eadu. Astronauti vybran\u00ed pre mont\u00e1\u017enu pr\u00e1cu na HST nacvi\u010dovali v\u0161etky potrebn\u00e9 \u00falohy vo ve\u013ekom vodnom baz\u00e9ne. Celkovo v \u0148om str\u00e1vili vy\u0161e 700 hod\u00edn. Raketopl\u00e1n Endeavour bol zatia\u013e po predch\u00e1dzaj\u00facej misii STS-57 prepraven\u00fd do hang\u00e1ru Orbiter Processing Facility. Stadia\u013e bol v okt\u00f3bri premiestnen\u00fd do haly Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) a pripojenie k zvy\u0161ku \u0161tartovacej zostavy. Potom nasledovala preprava na rampu 39-A. Tam prebehlo v d\u0148och 4. a 5. novembra sk\u00fa\u0161obn\u00e9 odpo\u010d\u00edtavanie. Medzit\u00fdm v\u0161ak technici zistili, \u017ee tzv. biela izba, \u010di\u017ee hang\u00e1r, kde je ukladan\u00fd u\u017eito\u010dn\u00fd n\u00e1klad pred \u0161tartom, nie je sterilne \u010dist\u00fd. Na\u0161li sa tam pozostatky piesku pou\u017eit\u00e9ho pri pr\u00e1ve dokon\u010denej gener\u00e1lnej oprave rampy. Na rampe 39-A s\u00edce prebehlo e\u0161te natankovanie hypergolick\u00fdch l\u00e1tok pre motory OMS a RCS, ale potom bol raketopl\u00e1n p\u00e1sov\u00fdm prepravn\u00edkom prepraven\u00fd rad\u0161ej na rampu 39-B. Tak\u00fdto prevoz nastal prv\u00fdkr\u00e1t v hist\u00f3rii kozmonautiky.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Do raketopl\u00e1nu bola vsunut\u00e1 mont\u00e1\u017ena plo\u0161ina, ktor\u00e1 mala zachyti\u0165 teleskop po\u010das opravy. \u010eal\u0161\u00edm n\u00e1kladom bol SAT (Solar Array Transporter), dvojica nov\u00fdch slne\u010dn\u00fdch bat\u00e9ri\u00ed. Odpo\u010d\u00edtavanie za\u010dalo 27. novembra o 14:00 UTC v \u010dase T-43 hod\u00edn. Vinou nepriazniv\u00e9ho po\u010dasia sa v\u0161ak odpo\u010d\u00edtavanie v \u010dase T-9 min\u00fat preru\u0161ilo a pokra\u010dovalo a\u017e o nieko\u013eko hod\u00edn. Raketopl\u00e1n vy\u0161tartoval o 09:26:00 UTC.<\/p>\n<h2>Priebeh <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adhara.sk\/?page_id=2331\">letu<\/a><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Endeavour sa bez probl\u00e9mov dostal na obe\u017en\u00fa dr\u00e1hu. O T+126 sek\u00fand boli odhoden\u00e9 \u0161tartovacie motory SRB a v \u010dase T+8 min\u00fat 49 sek\u00fand aj palivov\u00e1 n\u00e1dr\u017e ET. Po prvom man\u00e9vri motorov OMS <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adhara.sk\/?page_id=468\">raketopl\u00e1n<\/a> dosiahol obe\u017en\u00fa dr\u00e1hu 550 \u2013 574 km a po \u010fal\u0161ej korekcii dr\u00e1hu 559 \u2013 574 km. T\u00fdm sa skon\u010dila pr\u00e1ca pre prv\u00fd de\u0148 letu.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Druh\u00fd de\u0148 bol venovan\u00fd predov\u0161etk\u00fdm pr\u00edprav\u00e1m pre v\u00fdstup do otvoren\u00e9ho priestoru. V r\u00e1mci tejto pr\u00edpravy do\u0161lo k zn\u00ed\u017eeniu tlaku na palube z 1014 hPa na 704 hPa. Prebehla tie\u017e kontrola vybavenia, \u010di nedo\u0161lo k jeho po\u0161kodeniu pri \u0161tarte. Jeho riadiace stredisko STOCC (Space Telescope Operations Control Center) v Goddardovom centre pre vesm\u00edrne lety v Greenbelte uzavrelo kryt tubusu a naviedlo \u010falekoh\u013ead do vhodnej polohy na stretnutie s raketopl\u00e1nom. K tomu do\u0161lo na tret\u00ed de\u0148 letu. Endeavour sa pribli\u017eoval k \u010falekoh\u013eadu r\u00fdchlos\u0165ou 100 km za obeh. Nasledovali \u010fal\u0161ie korek\u010dn\u00e9 man\u00e9vre. Letov\u00fd \u0161pecialista Hoffman si pri pozorovan\u00ed \u010falekoh\u013eadu tri\u00e9drom v\u0161imol, \u017ee jeden z jeho sol\u00e1rnych panelov je pokriven\u00fd.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">V \u010dase 06:30 UT za\u010dalo z\u00e1vere\u010dn\u00e9 pribli\u017eovanie, po\u010das ktor\u00e9ho velite\u013e opatrne riadil raketopl\u00e1n. \u010ealekoh\u013ead zachytil o 08:48 UTC Nicollier manipul\u00e1torom za kotvi\u010dku umiestnen\u00fa na boku HST. Potom bol \u010falekoh\u013ead ukotven\u00fd na mont\u00e1\u017enu plo\u0161inu v n\u00e1kladovom priestore raketopl\u00e1nu. Nasledovala prehliadka \u010falekoh\u013eadu kamerou a potvrdilo sa po\u0161kodenie sol\u00e1rnych panelov.<\/p>\n<h3>EVA-1<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u0160tvrt\u00fd de\u0148 letu vyst\u00fapili do priestoru Hoffman a Musgrave. Ich \u00falohou bolo vymeni\u0165 tri chybn\u00e9 gyroskopy vr\u00e1tane ich riadiacej elektroniky. Ak by bol vypadol e\u0161te jeden z troch zost\u00e1vaj\u00facich funk\u010dn\u00fdch gyroskopov, \u010falekoh\u013ead by u\u017e nebol schopn\u00fd vedeck\u00fdch pozorovan\u00ed. V\u00fdmena gyroskopov i\u0161la pomerne hladko, a\u017e na z\u00e1ver, ke\u010f do\u0161lo k probl\u00e9mu s uzavret\u00edm dvierok krytu, ktor\u00e9 boli pokriven\u00e9 teplom. A\u017e ke\u010f sa Musgrave prip\u00fatal k \u010falekoh\u013eadu, aby mohol vyvin\u00fa\u0165 v\u00e4\u010d\u0161iu silu, a pomohol mu aj Hoffman, sa podarilo zaisti\u0165 dvierka na v\u0161etky \u0161tyri z\u00e1vorky. I\u0161lo o v\u00fdmenu sol\u00e1rnych panelov, pri\u010dom prv\u00e1 sol\u00e1rna plachta musela by\u0165 vypusten\u00e1 do priestoru, preto\u017ee ju nebolo mo\u017en\u00e9 zvin\u00fa\u0165 do p\u00fazdra. Druh\u00fa sa v\u0161ak podarilo bez probl\u00e9mov zrolova\u0165 do puzdra a dopravi\u0165 na Zem na anal\u00fdzu, ako sa na paneli podp\u00edsali roky vystavenia kozmick\u00e9mu prostrediu. Upevnenie nov\u00fdch panelov prebehlo bez probl\u00e9mov. Oproti star\u00fdm panelom mali nov\u00e9 tri vylep\u0161enia. Astronauti sa vr\u00e1tili po 6-tich hodin\u00e1ch a 36 min\u00fatach.<\/p>\n<h3>EVA-3<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tret\u00ed v\u00fdstup absolvovali znova Musgrave a Hoffman. I\u0161lo o v\u00fdmenu starej \u0161irokouhlej planet\u00e1rnej kamery WF\/PC za modernej\u0161\u00ed model WF\/PC-2. T T\u00e1 mala v sebe u\u017e zabudovan\u00fa korek\u010dn\u00fa optiku. Kameru na spr\u00e1vne miesto nasmeroval Hoffman za pomoci Musgravea. Pracovali len pri prelete Endeavouru zemsk\u00fdm tie\u0148om, aby siln\u00e9 slne\u010dn\u00e9 \u017eiarenie nepo\u0161kodilo citliv\u00e9 detektory kamery. Star\u00e1 kamera bola ulo\u017een\u00e1 do n\u00e1kladov\u00e9ho priestoru raketopl\u00e1nu. O 35 min\u00fat po skon\u010den\u00ed mont\u00e1\u017ee za\u010dalo stredisko STOCC kameru o\u017eivova\u0165 a testova\u0165.<\/p>\n<h3>EVA-4<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u0160tvrt\u00fd v\u00fdstup absolvovali Thorntonov\u00e1 a Akers. I\u0161lo o vymontovanie fotometra HSP, oprava palubn\u00e9ho po\u010d\u00edta\u010da DF-224 a najm\u00e4 o nasadenie korektora COSTAR. V\u00fdstup prebehol bez probl\u00e9mov. COSTAR vsunula dvojica astronautov do \u010falekoh\u013eadu po ko\u013eajniciach na miesto, kde sa predt\u00fdm nach\u00e1dzal fotometer HSP. Nasledovala v\u00fdmena koprocesora v palubnom po\u010d\u00edta\u010di, ale s funkciou po\u010d\u00edta\u010da neboli odborn\u00edci spokojn\u00ed ani potom. Cel\u00fd v\u00fdstup trval 6 hod\u00edn 51 min\u00fat. Tom Akers prekonal rekord v d\u013a\u017eke celkov\u00e9ho \u010dasu str\u00e1ven\u00e9ho v otvorenom priestore. Hoffmanovi z r\u00fak vyk\u013azli tri skrutky, ale podarilo sa ich zachyti\u0165. Nasledovala in\u0161tal\u00e1cia z\u00e1lo\u017en\u00fdch zdrojov elektrickej energie pre spektrometer s vysokou rozli\u0161ovacou schopnos\u0165ou a umiestnenie n\u00e1hradn\u00fdch krytov pre magnetometre. Tieto kryty na \u017eiados\u0165 astron\u00f3mov vyrobili priamo na palube raketopl\u00e1nu Bowersox a Nicollier. Potom astronauti asistovali vykl\u00e1paniu sol\u00e1rnych panelov HST. V\u00fdstup trval 7 hod\u00edn 21 min\u00fat.<\/p>\n<h3>Vypustenie \u010falekoh\u013eadu<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Po\u010das deviateho d\u0148a letu STOCC pripravovalo \u010falekoh\u013ead na odpojenie t\u00fdm, \u017ee palubn\u00fdm po\u010d\u00edta\u010dom zadalo naviga\u010dn\u00e9 \u00fadaje, aktivovalo samostatn\u00e9 stabiliza\u010dn\u00e9 gyroskopy a magnetick\u00e9 cievky. Potom Nicollier uchopil \u010falekoh\u013ead manipul\u00e1torom a ostatn\u00ed \u010dlenovia pos\u00e1dky na dia\u013eku odpojili \u010falekoh\u013ead od k\u00e1blov, ktor\u00e9 ho sp\u00e1jali s raketopl\u00e1nom. N\u00e1sledne do\u0161lo k uvo\u013eneniu z\u00e1mkov medzi \u010falekoh\u013eadom a mont\u00e1\u017enou plo\u0161inou. Napokon Nicollier zdvihol teleskop nad trup n\u00e1kladov\u00e9ho priestoru. Po otvoren\u00ed krytu tubusu sa \u010falekoh\u013ead vydal na vlastn\u00fa obe\u017en\u00fa dr\u00e1hu.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Desiaty a jeden\u00e1sty de\u0148 letu znamenal odpo\u010dinok predov\u0161etk\u00fdm pre letov\u00fdch \u0161pecialistov.<\/p>\n<h2>Prist\u00e1tie<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Velite\u013e a pilot previedli zvy\u010dajn\u00fa kontrolu v\u0161etk\u00fdch syst\u00e9mov dru\u017eicov\u00e9ho stup\u0148a ako pr\u00edpravu na prist\u00e1vanie. K tomu do\u0161lo 13. decembra 1993. Man\u00e9ver motorov OMS nastal o 04:15 UTC nad Indick\u00fdm oce\u00e1nom. O 05:25:33 UTC sa koles\u00e1 podvozku Endeavouru dotkli dr\u00e1hy 33 na letisku SLF na Kennedyho vesm\u00edrnom stredisku na Floride.
