Ke\u010f\u017ee jednou z hlavn\u00fdch prednost\u00ed tohto stroja bola opakovan\u00e1 znovupou\u017eite\u013enos\u0165, historick\u00fd v\u00fdznam nemala iba prv\u00e1 misia, ale aj t\u00e1 druh\u00e1. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adhara.sk\/?page_id=8920\">Orbiter Columbia<\/a> sa pri nej tak stal prv\u00fdm strojom, ktor\u00fd letel do vesm\u00edru opakovane.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Aj po prvom prist\u00e1t\u00ed, 14. apr\u00edla 1981, bol americk\u00fd raketopl\u00e1n st\u00e1le v sk\u00fa\u0161obnom re\u017eime. Niet sa preto \u010domu \u010dudova\u0165, \u017ee na jeho \u010fal\u0161\u00ed \u0161tart sa \u010dakalo presne sedem mesiacov. Bolo nutn\u00e9 vyhodnoti\u0165 v\u00fdsledky prv\u00e9ho letu a na z\u00e1klade nich vykona\u0165 mno\u017estvo \u00faprav a zlep\u0161en\u00ed, takisto preveri\u0165 jednotliv\u00e9 komponenty. 28. apr\u00edla 1981 preto putovala Columbia na chrbte lietadla Boeingu 747-SCA z Kalifornie, kde dosadla, sp\u00e4\u0165 na Floridu. Tam, po umiestnen\u00ed do jedn\u00e9ho z hang\u00e1rov Orbiter Processing Facility, na nej za\u010dali technici pracova\u0165.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.adhara.sk\/?page_id=468\">Motory SSME<\/a>, p\u00f4vodne ur\u010den\u00e9 na v\u00fdmenu, v\u0161ak boli po premi\u00e9rovom lete v takom v\u00fdbornom stave, \u017ee sa na stroji ponechali. Len v jednej z d\u00fdz t\u00fdchto motorov bolo nutn\u00e9 opravi\u0165 dve z 3 240 r\u00farok zabezpe\u010duj\u00facich chladenie motora po\u010das \u0161tartu. Oba moduly orbit\u00e1lnych motorov OMS a predn\u00fd blok man\u00e9vrovac\u00edch motor\u010dekov RCF v\u0161ak boli vymontovan\u00e9 pod\u013ea pl\u00e1nu. Nedalo sa tomu vyhn\u00fa\u0165, bolo toti\u017e nutn\u00e9 zbavi\u0165 ich nebezpe\u010dn\u00fdch l\u00e1tok \u2013 zvy\u0161kov paliva a okysli\u010dovadla. Vymenilo sa aj jedno \u010derpadlo hydraulick\u00e9ho syst\u00e9mu a jedna z piatich inerci\u00e1lnych plo\u0161\u00edn \u2013 zariadenia, ktor\u00e9 po\u010das prv\u00e9ho letu vykazovali zn\u00e1mky zlyhania. Najviac opr\u00e1v si v\u0161ak vy\u017eiadal tepeln\u00fd \u0161t\u00edt Columbie. Uk\u00e1zal sa by\u0165 zranite\u013enej\u0161\u00ed, ne\u017e mnoh\u00ed predpokladali. Nahraden\u00fdch muselo by\u0165 a\u017e 10 % jeho plochy. \u010eal\u0161ie opravy sa t\u00fdkali elektroin\u0161tal\u00e1cie.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Do n\u00e1kladov\u00e9ho priestoru bolo in\u0161talovan\u00e9 tie\u017e prv\u00e9 u\u017eito\u010dn\u00e9 za\u0165a\u017eenie \u2013 s\u00fabor pr\u00edstrojov ozna\u010dovan\u00fdch OSTA-1 a dia\u013ekov\u00fd manipul\u00e1tor RMS (Remote Manipulator System). Okrem toho sa v n\u00e1kladovom priestore ocitol aj prototyp palety, ktor\u00e1 mala tvori\u0165 s\u00fa\u010das\u0165 u\u017e vtedy pl\u00e1novan\u00e9ho kozmick\u00e9ho laborat\u00f3ria Spacelabu. P\u00f4vodne mal sl\u00fa\u017ei\u0165 iba na otestovanie svojej kompatibility s raketopl\u00e1nom po\u010das letu. V\u010faka tomu, \u017ee vyhovoval letov\u00fdm \u0161tandardom, v\u0161ak bol nakoniec osaden\u00fd re\u00e1lnymi pr\u00edstrojmi OSTA-1. S\u00fahrnn\u00e1 hmotnos\u0165 tohto n\u00e1kladu a pr\u00edstrojov bola 4 556 kg.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Z\u00e1rove\u0148 s \u00fapravami dru\u017eicov\u00e9ho stup\u0148a sa v raketovej mont\u00e1\u017enej hale VAB (Vehicle Assembly Building) skladali pomocn\u00e9 motory SRB a prip\u00e1jali sa k hlavnej palivovej n\u00e1dr\u017ei ET. Do mont\u00e1\u017enej haly VAB bola Columbia prevezen\u00e1 10. augusta 1981 a po zmontovan\u00ed \u0161tartovacej zostavy bola 31. augusta spolu s mobiln\u00fdm vyp\u00fa\u0161\u0165ac\u00edm zariaden\u00edm prevezen\u00e1 na \u0161tartovaciu rampu 39-A. \u0160tart sa o\u010dak\u00e1val 9. okt\u00f3bra 1981.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pos\u00e1dka raketopl\u00e1nu bola op\u00e4\u0165 dvoj\u010dlenn\u00e1, \u010disto americk\u00e1 a mu\u017esk\u00e1. Rozdiel oproti STS-1 bol v tom, \u017ee tentoraz ju tvorili dvaja nov\u00e1\u010dikovia. Velite\u013eom bol Engle Joe Henry, pilotom Richard Harrison Truly. Obaja v\u0161ak u\u017e ist\u00e9 sk\u00fasenosti s raketopl\u00e1nom mali. V rovnakom zlo\u017een\u00ed \u2013 Engle velite\u013e, Truly pilot \u2013 tvorili pos\u00e1dku raketopl\u00e1nu Enterprise po\u010das sk\u00fa\u0161ok jeho prist\u00e1vania, pri ktor\u00fdch bol stroj vysaden\u00fd z chrbta nosn\u00e9ho lietadla.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">22. septembra pri tankovan\u00ed paliva nastal \u00fanik oxidu dusi\u010dit\u00e9ho. Oxid dusi\u010dit\u00fd postriekal trup raketopl\u00e1nu a sp\u00f4sobil po\u0161kodenie celkove 379 dla\u017ed\u00edc tepelnej ochrany, ktor\u00e9 museli by\u0165 vymenen\u00e9. Okrem toho boli vymenen\u00e9 aj \u010fal\u0161ie po\u0161koden\u00e9 \u010dasti orbitera, \u010do si vy\u017eiadalo odlo\u017eenie \u0161tartu o jeden mesiac. Nov\u00fd term\u00edn \u0161tartu bol 4. november 1981 (oproti p\u00f4vodne pl\u00e1novan\u00e9mu 9. septembru). Z\u00e1vere\u010dn\u00e9 f\u00e1zy odpo\u010d\u00edtavania preru\u0161ilo nieko\u013eko probl\u00e9mov: ni\u017e\u0161\u00ed tlak v kysl\u00edkovej n\u00e1dr\u017ei ET, ktor\u00fd hl\u00e1sili po\u010d\u00edta\u010de v \u010dase T\u20139 min\u00fat, a ni\u017e\u0161\u00ed tlak v palivov\u00fdch \u010dl\u00e1nkoch v \u010dase T\u201331 sek\u00fand. Z\u00e1ber urobil za paluby lietadla STA John Young, velite\u013e predch\u00e1dzaj\u00facej mise raketopl\u00e1nu. Autor: NASA<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Druh\u00e9 odpo\u010d\u00edtavanie zo stavu T\u201335 hod\u00edn bolo op\u00e4\u0165 preru\u0161en\u00e9 dvoma pomerne z\u00e1va\u017en\u00fdmi probl\u00e9mami, napriek tomu dalo vedenie s\u00fahlas so \u0161tartom. Columbia napokon \u0161\u0165astne od\u0161tartovala na misiu STS-2 d\u0148a 12. novembra 1981 o 15:09:59 UTC.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sedem sek\u00fand po \u0161tarte za\u010dal raketopl\u00e1n rota\u010dn\u00fd man\u00e9ver, 130 sek\u00fand po \u0161tarte boli odhoden\u00e9 motory SRB. V priebehu vo\u013en\u00e9ho p\u00e1du motorov sa v\u0161ak na obidvoch po\u0161kodila kabel\u00e1\u017e a z mora boli teda vytiahnut\u00e9 motory so zdeformovan\u00fdmi tryskami. Orbiter s hlavnou palivovou n\u00e1dr\u017eou bez probl\u00e9mov pokra\u010dovali v lete. V \u010dase T+522 sek\u00fand do\u0161lo k vypnutiu motorov SSME, n\u00e1dr\u017e bola odhoden\u00e1 a po dvoch man\u00e9vroch sa Columbia dostala na obe\u017en\u00fa dr\u00e1hu vo v\u00fd\u0161ke 222 km. Po\u010das nav\u00e1dzania na obe\u017en\u00fa dr\u00e1hu sa zv\u00fd\u0161ila teplota v prevodovke hydraulick\u00e9ho syst\u00e9mu \u010derpadla 1, preto bolo vypnut\u00e9 trochu sk\u00f4r, ako hovoril pl\u00e1n.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Po piatich hodin\u00e1ch na obe\u017enej dr\u00e1he do\u0161lo e\u0161te k v\u00e1\u017enej\u0161iemu probl\u00e9mu. Palivov\u00e1 bat\u00e9ria PRSD, ktor\u00e1 za\u010dala prejavova\u0165 mal\u00e9 odch\u00fdlky u\u017e nieko\u013eko min\u00fat po \u0161tarte, prestala fungova\u0165 \u00faplne. Okrem elektrickej energie vyr\u00e1bala bat\u00e9ria aj vodu, ve\u013emi potrebn\u00fa pre pos\u00e1dku. Hoci mal raketopl\u00e1n k dispoz\u00edcii e\u0161te \u010fal\u0161ie dve bat\u00e9rie, vedenie letu nechcelo riskova\u0165, \u017ee aj u t\u00fdch by sa mohli objavi\u0165 podobn\u00e9 probl\u00e9my. Preto sa rozhodlo skr\u00e1ti\u0165 p\u00f4vodne 125 hodinov\u00fd let na 54 hod\u00edn \u2013 podobn\u00fa d\u013a\u017eku, ak\u00fa mala predch\u00e1dzaj\u00faca misia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Napriek probl\u00e9mom <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adhara.sk\/?page_id=7410\">astronauti<\/a> za\u010dali vykon\u00e1va\u0165 pl\u00e1novan\u00e9 experimenty, zvl\u00e1dnu\u0165 sa ich podarilo a\u017e 80 %. Bolo medzi nimi napr\u00edklad pozorovanie a sn\u00edmkovanie Zeme, ale aj technick\u00e9 pokusy. I\u0161lo o manipula\u010dn\u00e9 rameno raketopl\u00e1nu, \u010fal\u0161iu vymo\u017eenos\u0165, ktorou sa raketopl\u00e1n odli\u0161oval od v\u0161etk\u00fdch predch\u00e1dzaj\u00facich <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adhara.sk\/?page_id=2711\">kozmick\u00fdch lod\u00ed<\/a>. Manipula\u010dn\u00e9 rameno bolo ulo\u017een\u00e9 v n\u00e1kladovom priestore raketopl\u00e1nu a po\u010dtom k\u013abov i sp\u00f4sobom ich ohybu pripom\u00ednalo \u013eudsk\u00fa ruku. Mali ho pri sebe raketopl\u00e1ny pri v\u00e4\u010d\u0161ine misi\u00ed, bolo nevyhnutn\u00fdm prvkom pri akomko\u013evek vyp\u00fa\u0161\u0165an\u00ed telies z raketopl\u00e1nu \u010di zachyt\u00e1van\u00ed telies do\u0148 a tie\u017e pri z\u00e1sobovac\u00edch misi\u00e1ch. Pri tomto lete pilot Richard Truly po prv\u00fd raz vykonal jeho test. Vyhl\u00e1sil, \u017ee sa ovl\u00e1da \u013eah\u0161ie ne\u017e na pozemskom simul\u00e1tore.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pred pl\u00e1novan\u00fdm sp\u00e1nkom pos\u00e1dka pod\u013ea pokynov riadiaceho strediska v Houstone podnikla opatrenia na zn\u00ed\u017eenie odberu elektrickej energie.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Po druhom no\u010dnom odpo\u010dinku sa piloti za\u010dali pripravova\u0165 na n\u00e1vrat na Zem. Experimenty na plo\u0161ine OSTA-1 boli ukon\u010den\u00e9 a dvere n\u00e1kladov\u00e9ho priestoru uzavret\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">O 20:19 UTC sa po nasmerovan\u00ed raketopl\u00e1nu do polohy motormi napred za\u017eihli nad Indick\u00fdm oce\u00e1nom dva motory OMS. Columbia za\u010dala zostupova\u0165 do zemskej <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adhara.sk\/?page_id=6627\">atmosf\u00e9ry<\/a>. V priebehu prist\u00e1vania sk\u00fa\u0161ali piloti r\u00f4zne man\u00e9vre s cie\u013eom dosiahnu\u0165 \u010do najv\u00e4\u010d\u0161iu odch\u00fdlku v kurze letu. Pri takomto man\u00e9vrovan\u00ed bola horn\u00e1 strana raketopl\u00e1nu viac tepelne za\u0165a\u017een\u00e1 ako pri be\u017enom zostupe.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Prist\u00e1vanie s\u010dasti prebiehalo automaticky, riaden\u00e9 po\u010d\u00edta\u010dmi. Len vo v\u00fd\u0161ke 30 metrov nad dr\u00e1hou prebral pilot\u00e1\u017e velite\u013e Engle. Raketopl\u00e1n dosadol na prist\u00e1vaciu dr\u00e1hu Edwardsovej leteckej z\u00e1kladne o 21:23 UTC.
